SAFETY STATEMENT

SAC’s general statement of safety intent is:


• To provide adequate control of the Health and Safety hazards arising from our activities and work constantly to lower the risks.
• To consult with our clients on matters affecting their health and Safety.
• To provide and maintain safe activities, equipment and events.
• To provide information, instruction, training, supervision and demonstration on all our activities to all participants.
• To ensure that all adult members of SAC are competent to do their tasks and activities and give them suitable required training
• To prevent accidents and causes of activity related ill health.
• To maintain safe and healthy conditions throughout all of their activities and events.
• To maintain accurate records of training undertaken in the group.

The management of Health and Safety in SAC is as follows:


Overall responsibility for Health and Safety is that of Mr. A Selby.

Day to Day responsibility for ensuring that this and the national scout headquarters relevant rules and policies are followed is

delegated to the senior instructor in charge of the activity/event.

Risk Assessments are undertaken for all activities and events jointly between A. Selby and the senior instructor in charge of the event.


Members of SAC have a responsibility to:


• Co-operate with each other on Health and Safety related matters.
• Not to interfere with equipment provided for any Safety related purpose.
• Undertake regular training and updating as necessary for their activities.
• Undertake assessments on performance as necessary for their activities.
• Maintain a high standard of Health and Safety for themselves and everyone involved in the activity.
• Report all Health and Safety related matters to a relevant person as detailed above.
